Sagatiba

I really like this advertisement i found in a designer magazine (Feb 09), just because it is so bright, colourful and attracts your eyes. There is so much detail in every area of the design you don't really know where to look at first. The Ad is selling a Brazilian Rum called "Sagatiba", the product sits in the middle of the page, which is probably the most important area to be showing it off. The Ad is trying to say that Brazilians drink "Sagatiba" to celebrate summer , which means they drink it all year round. I guess that is their slogan for their product, saying that you can enjoy this product throughout the whole year, having the same effect each time.

After learning about the Art Nouveau movement, i have found so many examples of influences that the movement has portrayed. This is defiantly a great example, because of the use of organic nature all around the page. These floral designs have been created using adobe illustrator, with the use of bright colours, gradients and different textures. This ad is very Feminine and Beautiful, especially because there is a lot of pink and purple being used. The way the shapes have been created, they seem very flat but because they have gradients and different strokes and lines on them they seem more 3D and "life-like". Overall it is just a very fresh design that seems very natural, but yet very busy and cluttered.

There isn't much typography being used in the advert, but the typeface being used in the header seems very oriental just the way the strokes curve around, being a great contrast to one another the way there are thick and thin areas to the letters. They design defiantly doesn't focus on typography, but rather on the different vectors and colours being used, so just a hint of text is enough to inform the readers. Overall, i found this advertisement really interesting and eye-catching to look at and they have done quite well to pull this design off!
